Migration Flows in the Horn of Africa and the Arab Peninsula (June — August 2017)

The Regional Report details progress made through the project period (June — August 2017), identifying flow monitoring points across the region as well as movement trends to better understand migration flows between Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti and Yemen. Additionally, IOM has established a network of Migration Response Centers (MRCs) along irregular migration corridors in Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somaliland, and Puntland while supporting similar initiatives in Sudan and Yemen. The purpose of the program is to assist stranded migrants and to build the capacity of governments to respond to the challenges of mixed migration, while providing a better understanding of migrants’ intentions and needs.
