Flow Monitoring of Undocumented Afghan Returnees from Pakistan 23 – 29 April 2017

IOM Pakistan’s Situation Report on the Return of Undocumented Afghans through the Torkham border, reporting period [23 – 29 April 2017].

• During the week of 23 – 29 April 2017, a total of 4,633 undocumented Afghans returned from Pakistan through the Torkham border.
• During this reporting period, there has been an 11% increase in the proportion of respondents citing “lack of documentation” as a push factor. At the same time, no respondents cited being “afraid of being deported” as push factor (55% in last round).
• Pull factors remained relatively stable – 91% cited “returning to own country” and 39% “reunion with family/ relatives”.
