IOM Return of Undocumented Afghans Weekly Situation Report (6—12 August 2017)

1,464 undocumented Afghans returned from Pakistan last week. This is a 26% decrease compared to the previous week. IOM provided post-arrival assistance to 94% of those who returned, among them 1,182 individuals in poor families, 170 individuals in single parent families and 23 special cases. 81,286 undocumented Afghans have returned from Pakistan since 01 January 2017. 8,766 undocumented Afghans returned from Iran between 6 and 12 August, 10% less than in the previous week. Of those who returned, 5,655 individuals were deported and 3,111 spontaneously returned. IOM provided post-arrival assistance to 445 (5%) of undocumented Afghans, among them 51 unaccompanied minors, 22 special cases and 4 unaccompanied elderly. The number of undocumented Afghans who spontaneously returned or were deported from Iran since 01 January 2017 is now 215,084
